At present we use SPSS-X,GENSTAT and MINITAB on a mainframe. However due to high costs and slow turn-a-round we want to move our work onto micros. We have an IBM PC,SAGE,WICAT. I would be grateful if anyone who feels inclined and/or knowledgeable could mail me with advice on suitable packages and/or micros with the following specifications : (i) up to 3/4 users (ii) ability to cope with largish datasets (upto 10 meg) (iii) 40 meg hard storage (iv) same sort of range of analysis as SPSS-X or SAS If I receive enough comments I shall summarise to the net. -- Overdoing things is harmful in all cases even when it comes to efficiency.
