I have a chance to buy a new IBM PC portable thru my alma matter for $1,100.00 + $45.00 for DOS . The configuration is: -- system unit, keyboard, amber monitor, color graphics adaptor, 2 floppy drives by Qume (i think) -- that's all, i.e. NO serial or parallel ports, and 256K of memory on its (XT) motherboard. Does anyone have any experience regarding the IBM-PPC? I read the reviews on last year's PC trade mags and was scared by disk failure horror stories. Also, how easy it will be to stuff a hard disk in it?
