this is my first experience with a micro based C compiler, so if this
question is naive.. pls DONT FLAME ME !!!!!!

in the alcyon C compiler procedure names must be unique in the first 4
chars, why ? because the compiler prepends the variable name with a ~~ and
all symbols must be unique within 7 chars. Fine i thought rather than
rewrite (change) all that code ill use #define to redefine the names. Wrong
! the bloody compiler truncates everything to 7 chars so all my defines were
just redefining the same string ratz!!!! My question, does anyone have a way
to convert long names to short other than by hand ????
