The reason for this is that for some option key combinations European keyboards generate different ASCII codes to American ones. Thus a new version of the Princeton font won't solve this problem, you have to modify the font for use with European machines. There is an application called the Localiser which does a reasonable job of this automatically, though its preferable to do it manually using a font editor. We have done this here at Warwick U. and have several mathematical fonts for use with UK keyboards (and I believe they should work with any European keyboard). They are all based on Princeton but have evolved considerably since then to suit my needs. Mail me if you want a copy, if there is sufficient demand I shall post them to NSM. jaroslav .
