Without arguing too much about the appropriateness of cross-posting to net.women (I can see arguments on both sides), I should mention that I know Will, and his credentials as a committed feminist are impeccable. I am sure that he sent the message with the best of intentions--i.e., that women, individually and as a class, should be informed about safe-sex recommendations. I found the tone of your article offensive in the extreme, and a total overreaction.
