The film THE HAUNTING was based on the book THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE
by Shirley Jackson.  This is not to be confused with the film
THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE, which was based on the book HELL HOUSE
by Richard Matheson.  Nor should they be confused with the film
HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, which was made by William Castle and was not
apparently based on anything.
