I am thinking about this as a business opportunity for both my company and Usenet participants. Usenet might receive 50% of net profits. The most attractive groups to this market segment are probably net.micro.mac and net.micro.pc for starters. I would appreciate your thoughtful consideration of this idea, and your comments on the issues it suggests. Some of these issues are: 1. Is the Usenet community receptive to this concept? 2. what mechanisms could be viable for feeding revenue to Usenet participants? 3. What Usenet participants could receive these revenues? 4. What might these revenues be used for? David Stoffel Amber Research Group
