Lines: 30 A couple of years ago I took my neutered male cat for a checkup (can't remember why -- I guess it was just his annual) and the vet told me he was ok. and asked me if I noticed any strange behaviour. I said no. He's an indoor/outdoor cat so I don't get to check his urinary habits daily. Four days after this "good bill of health" claim I came home to my husband saying that something is wrong with Jammer. He looked spacey his eyes were glazed, (Jammer not my husband) and very large. I rushed him to a vet that was closer to my house than the one I went to for his checkup and was told that he had a urinary tract blockage and needed to be operated on immediately. Cat was operated on and to this day, he's fine. But I was really pissed at the vet who gave the cat a clean bill of health. The vet who operated on him said that this was building up for some time so the previous vet really should have noticed a problem. Well fuming I called vet #1 told him the whole story, ranted on how my cat could have died, etc. etc. I was very upset. Well I got back that evidently it was my fault since I told the vet that I hadn't noticed any strange behaviour. I shot back that I'm not a vet, he is and he should have known. As a result, I didn't pay the bill, got all kinds of letters that they were going to sue, I said, ok I'll sue you, etc. etc. Anyway after about 6 years of going to that vet, I stopped. There I go, on and on again. To sum up: Jammer is fine, his diet was changed to low ash cat food, he seems happy. My other cat, a neutered female hasn't had any urinary problems.
