Or wormed the dog yourself? An infestation of worms very frequently follows an infestation with fleas. In fact, the last time we had a flea problem I noticed the worm signs even before the flea signs. I've used Hartz Mountain once-a-month worming pills with my cats whenever they've had flea problems and it's always been successful.
