I once heard part of a poem/short-story when I was in college, but I don't
know the source.  If anyone out there knows where the following line(s) 
originated, I would be grateful.

"....I am the navigator of my destiny, the captain of my soul."

give or take a word, that is basically what I remember.  Thanks all for
bearing with me on this.
