Any idea on price? To go to Grand Canyon from San Jose you have to take the Coast Starlight from San Jose to LA, and then change there to the Southwest Chief. The Southwest Chief takes you to Flagstaff, from where you take a bus to Grand Canyon. I understand Amtrak has several package tours to Grand Canyon. However, I have no idea what they cost. Incidentally, if you haven't already travelled from San Jose to LA by the Coast Starlight, you may consider doing just that. It is one of the most scenic train rides that I have been on.
