(which sadly lost a lot of character when they remodeled it) Anywho, I cast a vote in support of electronic communication. Most of my friends are pseudo-randomly scattered around North America, so forget meeting face-to-face on a regular basis. (Where *did* I park my Lear jet?) Many of them keep strange hours (or not-so-strange, depending on your point of view), and/or are in different timezones, and/or are never home and can't talk at work, etc etc, so the phone is less than useful. E-mail is so much faster than Snail-mail, and I don't have a termcap for my felt-tip :-) anyway. Some things are easier and better discussed with e-mail. You have time to think about what you want to say. Other things are better discussed in real time. Immediate feedback can be very helpful. Sure, given the same person, I'd rather have a SDR than an LDR. But the women I've met thru the net are so much closer to what I'm looking for than any I've met at Four Lakes Pub, or the v-ball courts, or wherever. As Hawkeye would say, "Finestkind."
