There is concern for the world among us modern college students, but the modern methods of causing change are greatly different than ancient times. For instance, look at the collegiate protesters at the S. African Embassy in D.C. No longer are the police viewed as the enemy; they are merely doing their job keeping the peace. People volunteer to get arrested for the cause, and fully cooperate with the arresting officers, rather than passivly or actively resisting arrest as in the past. Also, modern college political groups resort to lobbying instead of rioting. Which do you think is more effectiv at achieving your goals? Admittedly, I am a rather dweebish, lazy sort, and have not activly engaged in any sort of protests, although I will continue to express my political views through my votes in elections. There are still some Liberal Arts types still engage in political action, but the methods don't grab front page headlines like the Chicago riots in '68. > JE MAINTIENDRAI ***** ***** > ****** ****** 14 Nov 85 [24 Brumaire An CXCIV] > ken perlow ***** ***** > (312)979-7753 ** ** ** ** > ..ihnp4!iwsl8!ken *** *** -- ______________________________________________________________________________ Earle A.
