Gee, I just watched one of those last night! At first they see only the bad side of the other, but as time goes on they gradually see the good side. You can see the gears turning: "He can be a real gentleman when he wants to be." "She handled herself really well when they were shooting at us." Problem is that this plot is so common that you know it's going to happen, which spoils the surprise.
