I do not believe that Bjo Trimble developed those abbreviations for
everyone to use, they were necessary for the Concordance, which
cross-references episodes a great deal and the savings was important
(probably saved the printers a penny or two per copy).  Small
abbreviations also allowed the episode wheel to fit without resorting to
tiny type.

I have complete admiration for Bjo and the Concordance.  However, I have
no interest in memorizing her abbreviations.  I know the titles and I
can easily generate the initials.  Also, this is the same method I use
when abbreviating film and TV show titles, for which no one has created
"official" (I use the term loosely) abbreviations.
