Kirk's comment is indeed strange for two reasons. 1) It isn't a simulation of Klingon space. 2) Kirk was a Klingon prisoner in Day of the Dove, and they let him live. It would seem Kirk doesn't know the Klingon Empire from the Romulan Empire. Perhaps he is going senile. Slip of the tongue? Any thoughts?
