I am using the ".cu" request to (attempt to) continuously underline on a 4.2BSD
system.  Unfortunately, it only underlines spaces on top of what ".ul" already
underlines.  The manual says "... causes EVERY character to be underlined ...".
Unfortunately, things like ':' and '.' don't get underlined.

What am I doing wrong and is there a *simple* way to get round it?
