(IS/3 is INTERACTIVE Systems Corporation's version of UNIX System III; to within hardware restrictions, it is a proper superset of UNIX System III.) PC/IX was developed by INTERACTIVE for IBM, who has been selling PC/IX since April of 1984. PC/IX is described in "Personal Computer Interactive Executive: General Information Manual," IBM form GH20-6247, available from IBM. PC/IX is sold by both the IBM direct sales force and the IBM Product Centers. PC/IX has received a number of very favorable reviews in the press for its reliability, performance, and completeness.
