Individual messages are send/received fine, but batched (csendbatch) messages always abort on my end with "inews: can't exec shell to unbatch files" or something similar. UUCP's LOGFILE says, "cmd: cunbatch; ret: signal 0; exit 1 (CMD FAILED)". The news program owns all the files, and cunbatch is in /usr/bin, so uuxqt *does* find it (I don't get an error about XQT DENIED or anything either) and start to execute it. Can you tell me why this is happening? How can I fix it? I only have source for the news s/w, not for any of the uustuff. Thanks already, ..Bob (I'd appreciate it if you'd reply to ...!decvax!wanginst!ulowell!page rather than the CSnet address ... thanks.)
