I have a VAX 11/785 running SysVr2v2. This is the only UNIX system in a community of hostile and short-sighted IBM systems. It has recently come to pass that we must transfer data to/from (for starters) an IBM System 36. The System 36 is running whatever stock operating system IBM sells, with RPG II as the only language. It supports 2780/3780 BiSync communications only. Our UNIX supports only the standard supplied RJE, System 360 remote multileaving. How do I transfer files? Tapes are used now, which of course requires operator intervention, but then, the System 36's rje is just as archaic: It requires an operator to *manually* dial the phone and initiate the session! Am I stuck? I don't mind spending $$ to get something that can be used on both machines, as long as the cost can be justified. I'd certainly appreciate any guidance and/or comments anyone could supply. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "I enjoy working with humans, and have John M.
