I think I'll rephrase the question(s) ---

I'd like to find out from the various net.heads about the pros/cons
of the subwoofers available on the market. What are the designs currently
thought of as State-of-the-Art ? Which company manufactures them ? How
much (approximately) do they cost ? Which non-SOTA products are good buys ?
What experiences have you/your friend(s) had with subwoofers ?
