(CitiCorp), Santa Monica Lines: 11 Xref: linus net.auto:7980 net.auto.tech:545 As for authenticity of a 65 mustang GTCS fastback, no. The GTCS was available only in 68 and only in the coupe model. The 65 shelby was a fastback and was available with and without wing and scoops. The wings are similar to those later used on the GTCS, but since the 65 shelby is much rarer beast, it is doubtful that anyone would represent it as anything but a shelby. The Collectors Guide to Thoroughbred Mustangs is the best reference of original mustangs, it even includes exact production numbers. -Pete-
