Message-ID: <245@spp3.UUCP> Date: Thu, 2-Jan-86 19:14:11 EST Article-I.D.: spp3.245 Posted: Thu Jan 2 19:14:11 1986 Date-Received: Fri, 3-Jan-86 08:26:23 EST Distribution: net Organization: TRW, Redondo Beach CA Lines: 24 I am looking for pointers to information about new cars. I have tried to read the Consumers Reports reports, but it always seems like they are several years out of date for the car(s) I am interested in. I have also tried to read magazines like Car & Driver, but this has the additional problem that they review the top of the line engine, which is not what I usually want (for example, C&D has info on the Toyota Celica GT-S but not the GT). Does anyone know where I can get some reasonably up-to-date information about new cars? Please mail replies to me as I don't read this group regularly. Thanks, Gary Ansok {decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!trwrb!trwspp!spp3!ansok gea%romeo @ cit-hamlet.arpa P.S. If you want to make specific recommendations, please do; I'm looking mostly at sporty cars (around $12K). The main ones on my list so far are: Subaru XT Coupe Toyota Celica Honda Prelude (if I can find one not $2K over list) Nissan 200SX I'm driving a '74 Mustang II whose repair bills seem to be growing geometrically since I passed 120K miles; and since I'm out of school now, I think I can afford my first new car.
