As the original poster said, the third brake light "significantly reduces rear-enders." I've noticed that you can see the third eye of the car that is two cars up from you. This gives you an early warning system. Also, all of those third eyes are in roughly the same place (in the center of your vision), so you know when ANY car close in front of you is braking. -- Bryan D.
