Regarding Arco Graphite, a friend asked that I post this:

I have used ARCO graphite in two 1978 VW Rabbits.  One has 130,000
miles, and the second has 85,000 miles; neither has had any engine
problems.  I've had a small assortment of other problems: clutch
on one, starter on the other.  I used a standard oil during
break-in, then switched to ARCO Graphite.  I change oil and filter
every 3000 miles.  Maybe I've been lucky, but it has worked well
for the Rabbits.
