After 2 years, 24000 miles, and $700 in repairs to the $%#* thing, I dumped it in favor of a 1982 Nissan Stanza. The Stanza is now starting to show it's age and mileage (60000) and I'm thinking about getting a new car in the spring. I mentioned this to the mechanic who works on my car and he recommended that I consider a VW Jetta. I found that recommendation strange coming from someone who knows all about the problems I had with the Rabbit, and accused him of sniffing gasoline. He's an excellent mechanic and now I think maybe I should at least consider a Jetta. Does anyone out there have any experience with them? Has anyone owned one? How well are they put together? What kind of quality can one expect in a Jetta? What's their repair record? Any random comments about them? Please reply to the address below. Thanks in advance. Carl Deitrick ihnp4!ihu1n!cbd
