The records of the time are sketchy. Not particularly. Pulp fan Will Murray cracked the authorship of all of the Doc Savage stories, first by stylistic examination, second by going through the Street and Smith payment records, and third by going through Lester Dent's papers. The biggest complication was in tracking down the stories that were contracted to Dent, but were sub-contracted by Dent out to other pulp authors such as Ryerson Johnson. Will detailed all of this (as well as including a detailed bibliography) in a fanzine on the pulps that he published/edited, called DUENDE (which he published some 7-8 years ago). --- jayembee (Jerry Boyajian, DEC, Acton-Nagog, MA) UUCP: {decvax|ihnp4|allegra|ucbvax|...} !decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-akov68!boyajian ARPA: boyajian%akov68.DEC@DECWRL.DEC.COM
