There is one professer in the Mathematics Department that often mentions having had students get in line in front of him at the Registrar's to withdraw before he handed in the final grade sheets (ack!). Those are days are (fortunately/unfortunately, take your pick) of the past now. The current policy is that a class can be dropped anytime during the first two weeks of the semester. From then until the end of the tenth week, you can withdraw (a W on the transcript) without prejudice. After that, you're dead meat. These numbers are for the Spring or Fall semesters, which are roughly 4 months long, the Summer is a little shorter (basically 2 months). If I've mistated anything, I'm sure I'll get corrected 2.7818e23 times, so watch for the follow-ups!
