    I posted this solution to the net twice already, so I'm sending this one
    to you personally.   Well I tried, but it bounced back so fast I got dizzy.
    So here it is for the 3rd time on the net.

    After arriving in the Vogon Hold and Ford has gone to sleep type:

    >get satchel and towel
    >take off gown
    >hang gown on hook
    >cover grate with towel
    >put satchel in front of panel
    >put mail on satchel
    >press button

That should do the trick...

		 Good Luck...
		 You'll need it...
		 That was one of the easier puzzles to solve...
