One day in the lab, while our mad scientist is eating his Rice Crispies (TM), he accidentally pours his formula instead of milk into the bowl (well, I said he's mad). Anyway, all of a sudden, the Rice Crispies grow to about 10 ft. tall, and start eating everything in sight (they also grew big teeth :-) ) At this point, you describe in excruciating detail about everything they eat, i.e. "They ate the building, then went out into the parking lot and ate all the cars, then they went to City Hall and ate that, ....." You detail, state by state, country by country, just what they ate, until they've eaten everything on earth. At this point, if nobody has interrupted you yet, have them take a space shuttle that they haven't eaten to the various planets of the solar system, etc. Note that if you are a whiz at astronomy, you'll be able to do this 'till the cows come home. Long about now, someone who hasn't fallen asleep will ask "JHC, does this thing ever end?!" To which you reply Of course not, silly. It's a cereal. ***Warning: I once told this one after having lectured my victim on the virtues of not interrupting jokes (this was due to the way they destroyed the previous joke I told). I was well into my second alternate universe before they finally got the courage to interrupt. ----Ken Elliott ---elliott@aerospace.ARPA
