So he went to the hospital and examined the brain selection. There was a mathematician's brain, quivering pink in a glass case, for $100. Pretty inexpensive, he thought. A radiologist's in the next case was a bit more, $400. Finally, he came to a large crystal case, containing a brain, a jazz musician's, for $5000. He was aghast. He demanded of the orderly, "A mathematician's brain for $100, a radiologist's for $400, why is this brain so much more?!". The orderly replied, "It's never been used." I'm repeating this joke as it was told me. Apparently the talent of jazz musicians is not respected in certain circles -- why I don't know. I'm sure I might miss some good joke schemas by skipping over the ones that would be offensive to me.
