The Subject line read like this: Subject: ON A CAR - offensive to Black people, Liberals (ROT13) Now wait a minute. Besides her quoted "Chevrolac," Ms. Bates didn't manage to spell 'Chevrolet' or 'Cadillac' correctly at all. Odds are, then- becky didn't think a whole lot when she wrote her piece. What ever "certain groups" could Becky be insinuating? If we disregard the title of the article, it could be anything from fat, heartless capitalists subjugating the proletariat, to Communist dictators. Plenty of people like Cadillacs. They are collectively as good, evil, smart, stupid as the rest of humanity. GM can't help that. Perhaps the Cadillac, promoted as a luxury car, is something that a lot of people look up to. Ms. Bates says that the "Chevrolac" painted on the back reinforced "the stereotype" in people's minds. _What_ stereotype? And why is her article "offensive to Liberals" ? And what kind of joke is it anyway? I think the excerpted article above was a joke on the person who wrote it more than anything else. The way her article was written, Ms. Bates paints herself to be a racist, an anti-Liberal-because-she's-a-racist, and someone who gets stereotypes from the wackiest places. (... besides a pathalogical misspeller.) At least this "joke" didn't put me to sleep :-). Pardon me for un-rot13'ing it. -- ########################################################################## #D. Rosenberg "These are my opinions.
