Which HP 9000 system?  There are 3 subfamilies - series 200, series 300,
and  series  500.  The 200 is 68000  based.  The 300 is 68010 and  68020
based and the 500 is a proprietary  32-bit machine.  (I suspect you mean
the 500.)
