for some time now, pathalias has purported support for domain-style
addressing.  the syntax is clumsy, and the semantics are murky; from
the complete absence of comments, favorable or otherwise, i conclude
that in all the world, only i have been using this feature.

in another context, this might be called "voting with your feet."

accordingly, i have ripped out the old code and replaced it with a
completely different, vastly simpler, and more intuitive syntax.  the
purpose of this note is to inform anyone who might be using domains in
pathalias that in the future, the !!/@@ operators will be rejected.
