I've always been annoyed by the plethora of blank lines appended to messages I receive through electronic mail. I usually have 5-10 lines blank at the end of the message!! What I suspect happens is that certain mailers (perhaps sendmail/rmail) add a trailing '\n' to the last line of the file when it copies it in from the phone line...over the course of a half-dozen hops it adds up to a considerable percentage of the total lines of a message!! Am I right? Has anyone else noticed this pesky problem?? Mailed without ANY trailing blank lines, from Dave Taylor
