Fair ucbvax!fair fair@ucbarpa.berkeley.edu To shield floppies and other magnetic media, one can use standard magnetic shielding materials. Mu-metal is one such, but there are other types. Some care has to be taken in fabricating carrying cases, because working with these materials can alter their magnetic shielding properties (and then you have to re-anneal the metal.) Magnetic shielding is most commonly used to shield CRT tubes, and many of the companies which make CRT shields have also started producing stock products for carrying magnetic tape, cartridges, etc. Most of them sell foil shielding material which can be used to line a carrying case.
