I have seen ads in computer supplies catalogs for stands which allow you to place your PC on the floor, vertically. I sure could use the extra desk space but I am concerned about the disk drives. Is it ok to operate the Winchester and the floppy drive on their sides like this. I would imagine the floppy would be ok since the heads actually touch the disk there and the tolerances are not so critical but what about the winchester? I would really appreciate hearing from someone who knows. I would also appreciate hearing from anyone who has been using one of these stands for some period. Thanx in advance. I guess I should say that I will post a followup if interest warrants. ---patrick--- Patrick Landry ut-sally \ University of Southwestern Louisiana !usl!pml akgua / LandryPM%usl@csnet-relay.ARPA
