In order to use the hard-disk, one must *also* have the T-card (with or w/o
RAM), or so I have been told.  Lesee, that makes a Tecmar H.D. somewhere
around $2000-$2500 ... on a $1295 base machine ... Ridiculous!  I have also
heard (i.e., this is a *rumor* from someone doing a Beta test) that the access
time for this H.D. is only about twice the access time for the floppys.  SLOW!
Tecmar may be the 1st people to get peripherials out for the Amiga ... I think
I'll wait for some competition.

BTW, there is an outfit in Texas (sorry, don't have the name handy) that is
making a battery-backed-up clock for the Amiga;  it's supposed to sit on
the RS-232 port "transparently", is available NOW, and is about $40 thru
12/31/85.  The same people have stated they will have a 2 Meg board in Jan ...
upgradeable to 8 Megs as soon as 1 Mbit chips are available in quantity
(I *think* I heard ~$1000 for this board).

With all the h/w development going on, I hope that SOMEONE comes out with
a well designed Expansion Box soon.  I'm not fond of the idea of adding
"sidecar" after "sidecar" to the Amiga.  Seems much more natural, not to
mention less expensive, to just buy cards, and plug 'em in.  Also, an
Expansion Box would have proper terminators for the bus (low noise), power
supply, etc.  Best place for this to come from (initially, anyway) is
Commodore-Amiga ... to ensure that the bus is correctly defined  (CAN YOU
HEAR ME, CBM ... HINT HINT)!
