I'll use it anyway.) I think these are both words - i.e. form part of the commonly used language with well defined meanings. Try a technical dictionary, such as the IEEE dictionary. I had just this argument with 'decoupled' the other day - not in dictionaries, but you know what it means - it is a technical term and was found in the IEEE dictionary.
