THE COLOR PURPLE....Spielberg makes a fresh start The movies
differs in mood from the novel, it dwells more on the strength of
human spirit, rather than ignorance and poverty.  But Spielberg,
after too many teen and under oriented films that were based on
their market value, not their artistic merit, has made a more
mature and thoughtful film based on simplicity
