I've been informed via mail that the late-night long distance phone
rates in the U. S. are 20 cents per minute or less.  This is cheaper
than in Canada, where the rates are about 24 cents or *more*.  (Both
figures in American cents.)

This would reduce my estimate of the cost of a 100 line article from
$10 to maybe $7-$8, and that's still a pessimistic estimate.
