I recall this locale from the defunct "Li'l Abner" comic strip, by Al Capp. I think that "Timbuktu" also designates a very remote place. Also, I know two people, both from the Baltimore area, who say something along the lines of "...we had to drive all the way out to East Bumfuck and back..." I've never heard anyone *else* mention this picturesque place, but these two people do not know each other, either. Perhaps it's a Baltimore-ism. Todd
