They certainly have their economic problems along with most of the world, but they do seem to have a reasonably open society (many Yugoslavians work in Western countries, but return regularly, etc.). All this in a country traditionally torn by strife between ethnic groups. Many estadounidenses seem to be admiring China these days, also, because of the large market it represents and foreign-policy considerations. Personally, I'd rather that you read DK rather than eat it. After all, three volumes is rather much. If my guess is correct that you have to buy the work before you can eat it, I suggest the International Publishers (Moscow) edition. Overgeneralization is, by definition, bad opinionating.
