Santa Fe, NM got 56 with another 5 (!) curve-billed thrashers. Espanola had its on the 29th and got a low species count of 56, probably because of the warm weather. The rarest were 4 merlins and 2 northern shrikes. Exciting was an adult bald eagle that soared over the Rio Grande. Also 59 CAnada Geese heading north and a high of 150 or more mallards. Many species usually present were in low numbers or absent. Patricia R. Snider 90 Royal Crest Los Alamos, NM 87544 Also the Jacana is still present near Nogales, AZ.
