I cannot remember who wrote it. Do any of you know? Short spoiler- Humans are at war with a race of monosexual beings called Jillies. The story follows the life of the captain of a starship stationed at Breakaway Station. The station is eventually overrun, and the humans attempt to escape. The starships travelled by making hyperspace microjumps. The on-board computer is sentient, goes by the name of rog(?), and spoke in lowercase only (probably a unix-box :-). I won't reveal the ending, but I guess you can all do that for yourselves... Does this strike a familiar chord with anyone? -- -- Jonathan D.
