A best friend will make you soup and offer their services
when you are sick and have no one else around to take care of you.

They will let you sing at the top of your lungs to the radio
w/out telling you to shut up. (or mentioning that you're out of tune)

They will repeat for you every exact good-word a potential SO said
to them when you weren't around. ("He acts like he likes you a lot"...
"Well, what did he say?"..."He said he's going to call you Friday"...
"How did he say it?"..."He said it like he meant it"..."What else
did he say?"..."That's about it"..."Oh he MUST have said something
else."..."Oh yeah, he said you were really nice"..."Nice as in nice
but I wouldn't want to date her or nice as in nice, she's a fox?"...
"The good way, like he really likes you"..."Oh tell me again everything
he said"...) without gettin ticked off.

They will tell agree with you how great your SO is until the
SO dumps you; then they will agree how awful he is for doing
such a thing to you.

They will tell you how great you look even when sometimes
you don't look too great.

They will leave messages on your answering machine when
no one else does.
