Hello,
	I have managed to get pm running here, on our vax running system III
(Interactive System III).  It uses fcntl to set ON_DELAY, which is available
under System V, so theoretically it should work there.  It seems to work, but 
it hasn't been very carefully tested.  I tried to use #if for my changes, so
it should still work under berkeley, but I haven't tested it.  I also made some
small changes to the code.  If anyone is interested in this animal, drop me a 
line.  If sufficient interest exists, I will post.
