I though the shuttle WAS cheaper per pound than saturn Vs and the like. Oh, the actual dollar amount might be the same - or even more - but inflation has reduced the value of the dollar by more than A FACTOR OF TWO since the last Apollo mission. Is the $/lb. figure for the shuttle really that much? Maybe I should get a back issue of Discover to figure out what started this discussion in the first place. J. Giles Los Alamos
