I've heard that the major league owners are trying to band together in hopes of lowering the "going rate" for superstars. I can see this happening to degree but with a guy like Gibson who is the type of player a team can mold itself around, I find it hard to believe that one or two owners aren't going to break this little show of fiscal unity and offer him some big bucks. My question is this: Is there a drug rumor following Gibby around and scaring off potential buyers?
