The last time both NY teams made the playoffs was 1981, when  the
Jets  lost  at  Shea  to  Buffalo,  and  the  Giants  lost at San
Francisco after winning in Philadelphia.

In 1982, the Giants missed an 8 team playoff field  by  finishing
3-6.
